Art Council Update
Due to the flooding at Sylvan Park, Art in the Park festival will be held downtown Lanesboro on West Coffee Street. Watch for signage. Food vendors will set up in the Lanesboro Fire Hall on Coffee Street. If questions, contact Celeste Birkeland 467-2230.
Art in the Park is sponsored by the Lanesboro Art Council with the support of the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council. It features 90+ art and craft booths as well as homemade foods and beverages provided by local organizations.
The quality, variety and value of the art and the food are remarkable and attract a large regional following. Don't miss Sidewalk Cafe performing vintage swing music throughout the day at this year's Art in the Park - Sunday June 15, in Lanesboro's Sylvan Park
Minneapolis/St. Paul ensemble Sidewalk Cafe will be featured at Art in the Park, playing the swing music popularized in 1930's Paris. The three members of Sidewalk Cafe take chances and plumb the depths, producing a riveting and original result.
Commonweal Theater will present scenes and songs from their upcoming play, the enduring musical, Man of La Mancha at 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. at the gazebo.
Childrens art activities will be offered as part of this year's festival along with the popular farm animal petting ring, the famous pie booth and other wonderful food and entertainment.
