Popular Art Festival marks its 29th year!
Lanesboro's Art in the Park, Southeast Minnesota's Longest Running Art Festival, is set for Sunday, Father's Day, June 21 in beautiful Sylvan Park, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Fine art and craft, live music, delicious food, theatrical performances and a petting zoo!
The quality and value of the art is impressive and attracts a large regional following. This year's festival will feature fine art and contemporary and traditional crafts from 82 artists from 5 states, including many new exhibitors.
Food: The Lanesboro Art Council will serve delicious egg rolls, vegetarian curry with rice and condiments and salads of locally grown produce. Also available will be brats, hot dogs, pickles, pop and other beverages.
The famous Cornucopia Pie booth will be serving a variety of homemade fruit pies, including rhubarb, as well as ice cream and other treats.
Music and Theater: Bob Bovee and Gail Heil play old time, blues and ragtime as well as cowboy tunes. They will be performing on the Sylvan Park Gazebo from 12 to 4 p.m.
New Folk Recording artist John Black will entertain in the morning and during the day with contemporary and traditional songs.
Lanesboro's Commonweal Theatre will present scenes from their latest production, the comedy based on an unlikely friendship, The Odd Couple. Performances at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. at the gazebo.
FOR KIDS AND ADULTS: The popular petting ring of baby and domestic animals from area farms is back to delight children and adults.
Children can make a Tie for Dad this year, at the Cornucopia Art Center booth—supplies and ties provided!
